Who are we ?
CRAFTOUR was established through the collaboration of four projects funded under the European Commission’s Horizon program: Craeft, the initiator of CRAFTOUR, along with Hephaestus, Tracks4Crafts, and Colour4Crafts. Additionally, two other projects from different programs—Culturality and Mosaic—have joined this initiative.
What unites us is our shared commitment to revitalizing the crafts sector.
Traditional craftsmanship, deeply rooted in cultural heritage, struggles to adapt to modern business models, access new markets, and integrate sustainable and innovative practices.
Safeguarding crafts means more than just preservation—it is about fostering economic development, enhancing tourism, and creating employment opportunities.
MISSION
CRAFTOUR’s mission is to revitalise European crafts by promoting innovation, ensuring skill transmission, protecting authenticity, and supporting sustainable business models—while preserving their cultural and economic value.
VISION
CRAFTOUR envisions a Europe where traditional crafts are recognised as vital cultural and economic assets—sustainably practised, widely valued, and actively passed on to future generations through innovation, mobility, and community.
ACTION PLAN
To manage collaboration across numerous partners and regions, CRAFTOUR established a structured methodology built around five key pillars. Dedicated working groups focus on each pillar, enabling targeted action and knowledge-sharing. These groups draw on their networks to gather insights, identify best practices, explore digital and AI tools, and engage experts to advance the initiative.
AGENDA
Explore the key moments shaping the CRAFTOUR initiative. From project launches and stakeholder workshops to partner meetings and public events, our agenda brings together voices from across Europe to collaborate, share knowledge, and drive forward the future of crafts.
