Biographical Info
Managing Director of Mad'in Europe. Mad’in Europe is dedicated to revitalizing Europe’s crafts and heritage conservation sectors. By working with private and public stakeholders, we raise awareness of these vital professions, encourage both formal and non-formal education, and support the transmission of skills to future generations. We conduct studies to identify sustainable practices, map endangered crafts, and provide policy recommendations that strengthen employment, boost training, and celebrate Europe’s cultural diversity. Heritage professions, mostly represented by microbusinesses, face threats from globalization and shifting consumer habits. Our mission is to connect artisans and restorers with an international audience, highlight their key role in Europe’s culture, economy, and society, and ensure their expertise endures. Over 1,800 artisans are featured on www.madineurope.eu, where Mad’in Europe fosters cross-border collaboration, provides digital tools, and empowers Europe’s micro-entrepreneurs to adapt and thrive.
